Joliet McDonald’s celebrates grand reopening downtown

City officials, Joliet Chamber members and representatives from area schools joined McDonald’s staff to celebrate the grand reopening of the Broadway Street location.

The store hosted a VIP party, complete with cake and a ribbon cutting, on Aug. 25. The event also featured complimentary McDonald’s appetizers and smoothies, and even featured a special appearance by Ronald McDonald.

Marvin Spence, owner operator, welcomed friends, colleagues and area officials to the new store, located at 1555 N. Broadway.

Joliet Mayor O’Dekirk was among those who spoke at the grand opening celebration. He said the city is thrilled to have Spence at this location and thanked him for his involvement in the community.

Spence said he was honored to have so many of Joliet-area VIPs attend the event.

The stores is planning to hold grand re-opening events through Sept. 11.
