Downers Grove-based Perma-Seal Basement Systems announced that it received the 2016 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the Better Business Bureau.
“Our mission is to make the world a better place by creating a good workplace, being the leader in the industry, helping over 350,000 homeowners and providing nearly 250 people with career opportunities,” said Roy Spencer, president and owner of Perma-Seal Basement Systems. “I’m happy and proud to be part of the Perma-Seal team.”
For more than 36, the company has performed basement waterproofing, crawl space encapsulation and foundation repair for homeowners and businesses in Chicagoland and northwest Indiana.
In a recent press release announcing the award, Perma-Seal said its mission, vision and core values guide all areas of its business operations. The company added that it emphasizes community engagement through internal donation drives and in-kind services given to the local community.
Steve Bernas, president and CEO of the BBB serving Chicago and northern Illinois, said Perma-Seal received the award because of its commitment to customer service and ethics.
“Customer service is a key aspect on which the independent judges evaluate all Torch Award entries,” said. “Without this clear focus on customers, business cannot be truly successful. Ethics is not just a statement; ethics is an action, a deed, a philosophy that drives people, a manner of conducting one’s self, and of simply doing the right thing.”
The award was presented at a luncheon ceremony Nov. 19.
