A Mokena man was arrested April 1 after Will County authorities say he desecrated the grave marker of the daughter of a local attorney who represented the man’s wife in a divorce case.
Robert A. Bonzani, 39, 19670 Townline Road, Mokena, a urologist practicing in Orland Park, was charged with stalking, a Class 4 felony, misdemeanor theft and criminal damage to property after he was found to have desecrated the grave marker at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet for Kiley Jaquays, daughter of local attorney Edward Jaquays and his wife Sheryl.
Records show Kiley Jaquays died Christmas Eve 2002 at age 17 while a student in Utah. The complaint against Bonzani says he desecrated the grave marker to cause distress to Ed Jaquays, who represented Bonzani’s wife in a divorce case.
The theft charges stem from Bonzani allegedly taking a small artificial tree from the grave site as well, said Charles Pelkie, spokesman for the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Bonzani posted $10,000 cash as bond, and will be arraigned in holiday court April 9.
