Bolingbrook set for annual village picnic

Rain or shine, the village of Bolingbrook’s 32nd annual Village Picnic will be the place for family-fun entertainment later this month.

The free event will be hosted from noon to 6 p.m. June 26 behind the Bolingbrook Town Center, 375 Briarcliff Road. This year, the event’s organizers are offering attendees a variety of activities, including a petting zoo, climbing treadwall, pony rides, trackless train, kiddie obstacle, fishing derby, cupcake baking, egg toss and hot dog eating contests, bingo, Art in the Park, a senior tent and more. Community organizations will also be at the picnic, selling food in addition to free hot dogs.

Additionally, the event will feature live entertainment on the Performing Arts Stage. Performances will include the Bolingbrook Community Chorus, Bolingbrook High School bands, Weber Irish Dancers, KineDanCo, Bolingbrook Park District Dance Force, Theater on the Hill and Freenotes.
