  • No. 9 Lisle girls rolll past Peotone, open up two-game lead in IC-8

    On Monday night in Lisle, a battle between the two, top teams in the inaugural Illinois Central 8 Conference, visiting Peotone and the host Lions squared off. The host Lions (18-3, 8-0) jumped out to a 16-9 lead after one quarter. Peotone (15-6, 6-2), doubled up on the Lions in the second quarter, outscoring Lisle 12-6, to close within 22-21 at halftime. The Lions extended their lead to 36-33 after three quarters before pulling away from Blue Devils for the 51-41 win. With the win the Lions have a two-game lead in the IC-8... Full story

  • Governor asks for, receives resignation from state ag director

Pritzker for failing to disclose contents of a 2012 email that pointed to the possible cover-up of a "rape in Champaign" and government "ghost workers," the governor's office said Monday.     Volunteer disaster responders with the American Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois responded to 24 fires from Monday, January 6 through today in the Chicago & Northern Illinois area in Bolingbrook, Harvey, Lynwood, Joliet, Rockford and more, with 15 of these fires occurring in Chicago including two fires in the 100 block of S.
