Lanes reduced on Maple Street in Joliet, New Lenox Township

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that lanes would be reduced on Maple Street between Porter and Spring Creek streets in Joliet and New Lenox Township for a patching and resurfacing project.

Work began this week and is expected to conclude by Oct. 30, according to the city of Joliet.

In order to complete the work, traffic will be reduced to one-way at various locations along Maple Street. The city said motorists should expect daily lane closures, with flaggers at various locations, once construction begins.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
