City Introduces New Interactive Dining Guide

More than150 Des Plaines dining options are now at your fingertips with the launch of the Des Plaines Dining Guide. This new interactive map makes it easy for you to decide on your next meal out. Just click on a location and the restaurant’s name, address, phone number, website, details on delivery, outside eating and party room availability will appear.  With so many choices and types of cuisine, we hope that you explore our diverse dining scene and find a few new favorite restaurants.

Busse Highway Lane Reduction Study

The City of Park Ridge is proposing to install bicycle lanes on Busse Highway between the city limits and Morris Street.  The proposed project would be installed as part of a future resurfacing project by the Illinois Department of Transportation.  Resurfacing is expected to occur sometime between 2020 and 2024.  Public Works Department staff will present the project during the November 18 City Council meeting- City Hall Council Chambers, 505 Butler Pl., Park Ridge, IL 60068 at 7:00 PM.  Staff will be present to answer questions on the project.  Any interested person who would like additional information or is unable to attend should contact the Public Works Department at 847-318-5228, or by mail (Attn: Public Works Department, 505 Butler Pl., Park Ridge, IL 60068) using the subject header “Busse Highway Public Notice”. 

Santa Comes to Town 2019

Santa comes to Morton Grove December 7, 2019. Santa will begin his arrival in town at 12 noon starting at Waukegan & Greenwood and finishing at Main & Austin between 1:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., all children are invited to visit Santa at the American Legion Civic Center in order to deliver their letters or let him know what their special hopes and dreams are for the holiday season. Children who received a specially marked candy will also receive a gift from Santa at this time. Santa Comes to Town is sponsored by the Morton Grove Days Commission.

Winter Adopt A Planter Program

The Community Relations Commission invites all Village residents and businesses to participate in the Village’s 2019 Winter Adopt A Planter Program.  Individuals, families, organizations, businesses and other groups may sign up to “adopt” one of the large Village planters located at the train station and, Civic Center, and along Dempster Street from Central to Lehigh Avenue, and along Waukegan Road. Participants in the Summer Program will be given priority to adopt their same planter and businesses will be given priority to adopt the planter closest to their store or office. The Village will provide each participant with a starter kit of assorted evergreen boughs, which they will use to decorate their planter along with decorations and other greenery they provide.
