oliet Catholic Academy president/principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the November Students of the Month: Kelsey Kempes (Kiwanis Club), Nathan Bebar (Rotary Club), and Joshua Ragusa (Lions Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.
Kelsey Kempes, daughter of Matthew and Tonja Kempes, currently has a 4.95 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Kempes is a member of the National English Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, International Thespian Society and Spanish National Honor Society. Kempes was a JCA girls tennis varsity captain and qualified for the IHSA State finals in doubles. She also serves as the vice president of the JCA Drama club. Kempes is currently undecided on her college of choice, but plans to become an industrial engineer.
Nathan Bebar, son of Ronald and Susan Bebar, currently has a 4.54 GPA in JCA Honor and AP classes. Bebar is a member of National English Honor Society, National Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. Bebar is also a member of the JCA Math Team, secretary of the JCA Student Council Executive Board, JCA Student Ambassadors, and Habitat for Humanity club. Bebar plays varsity baseball at JCA, umpires at St. Joe's Pony Baseball League, and also plays summer baseball for Top Tier. He plans on attending Central Michigan University to major in biology.
Joshua Ragusa, son of Mark and Sherry Ragusa, currently has a 4.68 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Ragusa is a member of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, JCA Student Ambassadors, JCA Student Council, Habit for Humanity Club, Respect Life Club, and Spanish Club. He's been a four-year member of the JCA Honor Roll, and received a certificate in his Spanish III class as a top student. Ragusa was a member of the JCA sectional championship soccer team and also helped lead the JCA baseball program to a regional championship. He plans on attending the University of Michigan or the University of Missouri to major in kinesiology.
