Tigers roar into SPC East lead with big win over Wildcats

Heading into Friday night's huge Southwest Prairie Red battle with Plainfield Central (6-6, 3-2), Joliet West (9-3, 5-1) was tied for first-place, with arch-rival Joliet Central (9-3, 4-1) atop the SPC East.

The Tigers made fast-work of the Wildcats to move into the SPC East penthouse.

The Tigers exploded out to a 17-4 first quarter lead, extended the lead to 31-9 at the half, and crushed the Wildcats

56-30 to sit all alone atop the SPC East standings.

Tykara Henderson led Plainfield Central with 11 points.

Freshman Aaliyah Frazier chipped in with seven points for the Wildcats

Trailing 38-26 at the half at undefeated Evanston

(8-0, 5-0), the Hawks' furious second-half rally, fell just two

points short

The Indians (2-9, 0-5) played tough against the Panthers (7-5, 4-1) in SPC West action on Friday.

Abbey Pettigrew buried four long-range, three- pointers and led the Indians with 13 points. Kinzie Caves hit double-figures with ten points.

While the Mustang boys were falling to the undefeated, Hornet boys, in Downers Grove, the Mustang girls (4-7, 3-2), turned the tables on the win-less Hornet girls (0-10, 0-3), in Darien.

The Trojans (9-3, 4-1) took over sole possession of second place,

in the WSC Silver,with the huge win over the Hilltoppers (8-4, 3-2).

In their first game at the Ottawa Holiday Tournament, the Angels (6-4) ran rough-shod over the Redskins (4-6).
