Angels nip Pontiac and Kaneland at Ottawa Holiday Tourney; Porters, Steelmen, Tigers and Trojans win tourney openers
OTTAWA HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT
The No. 1 question heading into Christmas is the condition of Joliet Catholic Academy girls head coach Jim O' Brien's heart and blood pressure. On Monday, O'Brien's Angels (9-5) nipped Pontiac 51-49 and in another stress-test for O'Brien, his Angels slipped past Kaneland 43-42 later in the day.
The Angels two heart-wrenching victories on Monday gave the Angels a 4-1 mark in Ottawa.

Lockport 49 Downers Grove South 32
The Porters (13-4) after trailing the Mustangs (4-9) after one quarter 8-7 opened up a 25-16 lead at halftime after outscoring DGS 18-8 in the second quarter.
DGS cut the lead to 34-26, after three and then a 15-6 Porter explosion in the fourth quarter finished off the Mustangs.
Joliet Central 58 ACC 25
The Steelwomen (11-3) gave head coach Laura Brumfiel an early Christmas present with the win over the Chargers.
Plainfield North 41 East Aurora 36
The Tigers improve to 7-6 with the come-from-behind victory over the Tomcats (4-9). Aurora East led 18-16 at the half before the Tigers grabbed a 27-26 lead after three before pulling away in the fourth quarter. Katie Jasko's 11 points led the Tigers to victory.

Downers Grove North 48 Glenbrook South 46
The Trojans (11-3) held off the feisty Titans of Glenbrook South (5-9) in first-round play of the Wheaton North
Christmas Tournament.
