In the final game of the day, in the five-game, The 'Ville Shootout at Lewis University in Romeoville, the host Spartans (14-13) took to the court against the Willowbrook.
Led by 35 points from senior guard Everett Stubblefield III, the Warriors rallied past the Spartans and 70-55. Stubblefield knocked down seven shots from beyond the arc.
The Warriors (10-16) also received 17 points, including three 3 's, from senior guard Sam Tumilty.
Romeoville was led by their Fresno State-bound senior Destin Whitaker, with 24 points, including six baskets from beyond the arc.
Romeoville, led by 16 first half points from Whitaker, took a 33-28 lead into their halftime locker room.
Stubblefield III (17 points) and Tummilty (10 points) scored all but one of the 28 Warrior first-half points.
In the opening minute of the third quarter, Whitaker buried his fifth three-pointer of the game to give the Spartans a 36-28 lead. Over the next two minutes, the Warriors scored 12 consecutive points for a 38-36 lead with 5:13 in the third quarter.
Stubblefield and Tumilty hit back-to-back three's to give the Warriors a 44-38 lead. Tailing 45-38, Whitaker knocked down his sixth three-pointer to keep the Spartans close at 45-41 and Willowbrook would hold a 46-41 lead after three quarters.
Stubblefield scored 12 fourth-quarter points igniting a 20-4 run that put the game away for Willowbrook.
"We came out with no energy in the second half," Romeoville coach Marc Howard said. "We just stopped playing. I have no idea what happened."
Six-foot-5 Spartan center, Travis Trice, just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.
