Obituary: Rita A. Kozack

Rita A. Kozack (nee Esser), age 89, a resident of Palos Hills, IL, formerly of Plainfield, Chicago, Lisle and Shorewood, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at her home. She was born December 24, 1930 in Plainfield. Beloved wife of the late Ronald J. Kozack, whom she married October 8, 1955 at the original St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield, loving mother of Kathleen (James Reich) Mittel of Palos Hills, IL and Sandra (Raymond) Wentler of Braidwood, IL, adored grandmother of Julie (Tim) Sheehey and Elizabeth Mittel; Erika (Phil Boronda) Bowlds, Richard Bowlds, Jr. and Andrew Bowlds, cherished great-grandmother of Trevor Bowlds, devoted daughter of the late Rudolph and Anna Esser, dear sister of Hilda (the late Joseph) Kocek of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and three deceased brothers and five deceased sisters, fond cousin, aunt, great-aunt and friend of many. Rita grew up in Plainfield, attended Central Elementary School and Plainfield High School. Before marrying and starting her family, Rita worked as a typist for Electromotive in McCook, IL. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020, 4:00-8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield. Services will begin Thursday, February 13, 10:00 AM at the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield. Interment: St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.
