Red-Hot Tigers smash West Aurora for 10th consecutive victory

Since losing to Joliet West 66-39 on Jan. 20, red-hot Plainfield North (18-7, 10-4) has run off 10 consecutive victories. On Friday night in Plainfield, the Tigers took-apart West Aurora 70-52.

The Tigers led 19-18 after one quarter. The North defense held the Blackhawks (8-18, 6-8) to just five second-half points to open up a 32-23 lead at the half. The Tigers extended the lead to 51-37 after three quarters and finished off the Blackhawks.

With the win, the Tigers kept pace with Oswego East (18-9, 11-3) in the Southwest Prairie West, trailing the Wolves by just one game.

A big week ahead for the Tigers, as they take on Neuqua Valley (21-7) in Naperville on Tuesday before hosting Oswego East on Friday.

The Spartans (15-13, 10-4) rolled past the Wildcats (14-11, 7-6) in SPC East action in Romeoville. With the win, the Spartans clinch at least a tie for second-place in the SPC East.

The Porters (12-14, 2-4) defeated their SWSC Blue arch-rivals from Sandburg(12-13, 1-5) in Lockport on Friday.
