Hawks check in at No. 5 in AP's Week One State Football Rankings, too
The Associated Press released its first Illinois high school football state rankings on Tuesday night.
Checking in at No. 3 in the AP's Class 5A rankings are the Hilltoppers of Joliet Catholic Academy.
JCA garnished two first-place votes, trailing Rochester who were voted No.1 and Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin, who checked in at No. 2 in Class 5A.
Checking in at No. 9 in Class 5A are the Hilltoppers' Sunday night opponent, the Fenwick Friars. The Hilltoppers and the Friars will be engaged in a Class 5A Top Ten battle at Triton College Sunday night at 6 p.m.
Fenwick (0-0) was scheduled to take on Nazareth Academy (AP Class 7A No.3) on March 19, at Triton College. The Friars fell victim to the world-wide-virus and had to cancel the game with the Roadrunners.
