Mayor Noak Appointed to 2023 National League of Cities Committees

Mayor Noak has once again been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee as well as the University Communities Council.

The Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee advocates for federal funding opportunities for cities and towns, improving safety and connectivity, and leveraging innovation for all types of transportation. Members include local elected officials and city staff from NLC member cities and towns across the country who are committed to discussing and influencing federal policy that has a direct and profound impact on local government operations.

The University Communities Council aims to connect elected municipal officials from university communities and foster a spirit of cooperation between universities, colleges and local governments. The council is comprised of municipal officials from NLC member municipalities with an institution of higher education within their borders or within adjacent municipalities.

"I am honored to continue serving on these National League of Cities committees," said Mayor John Noak. "I think the work we do is important and I am proud to represent Romeoville and Will County at the national level."

"NLC's committees are a key tool for gathering insights directly from the communities that our members serve," said NLC President Mayor Victoria Woodards of Tacoma, Washington. "I am excited to have Mayor Noak serve and look forward to working with him to ensure every city, town and village in this nation has the resources they need to thrive."
